There are birthdays, and then there are the kind of birthdays that rearrange your sense of what’s possible. This was the latter — a celebration that took over Austin for a full weekend, built in two acts, each one bigger and bolder than the last.
Act one began quietly, the way the best nights often do: with dinner, friends and family. Eighty guests gathered at one of our signature long tables to eat, drink, visit and toast. Sixty years deserves thoughtful reflection before the celebration turns loud, and this dinner was exactly that: a toast before the fireworks.
What followed dinner was, without exaggeration, a once-in-a-lifetime concert. A hundred and fifty guests filled the room to find Shelby Lynne, Natalie Hemby, LeAnn Rimes, and Miranda Lambert all on stage together, guitars in hand, in the round. No separate sets, no handoffs — just four extraordinary songwriters trading verses, harmonizing on each other’s choruses, and telling the stories behind the songs in between. The room got quieter with every one, that rare kind of quiet that happens when a crowd realizes it’s witnessing something it will never see again.
It was the kind of show you couldn’t buy a ticket to, and weren’t we all lucky to be in that room. Some favorite shots from Part 1 of an incredible birthday weekend in Austin.
None of this happens without an incredible team – we build it from the ground up with so much help!
